What it is

An open source Photoshop rebuilt from scratch in Rust, free, with 500+ commands an agent can run. Early alpha.

Steps

  1. Download PhotoCraft: Installers for macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and the web are on each GitHub release. On macOS the command line tool is the photocraft-cli zip.
  2. Plug it into Claude: Run photocraft-cli mcp and add it to Claude as an MCP server. It runs headless, or bridged to the running app.
  3. Drive it from the command line: photocraft-cli run wave.psd --cmd filter.sharpen.smartSharpen, and photocraft-cli batch --in ./raw --out ./graded for a whole folder.
  4. The control channel: photocraft --control lets an agent see the live app, use the tools and take screenshots.
  5. The repo: Apache 2.0 and MIT. 307 of the 309 psd-tools test files render the same after a re-save. The sister apps (LightCraft, FilmCraft, VectorCraft, PdfCraft) are linked in the README.
